Parasiticide, Protozoacide, Fungicide: Perhaps the most important aquaculture use therapeutant. Effecitve against a broad group of fungi including Achyla, Aphanomyces, Ichtyophaus, Saprolegnia, Protozoans; Scyphidia, Chilodonella, Costia, Cryptocaryon iritan, Epistylis, Ichthyopnthirius (Ich), Leptomitus, Oodinium, Trichodina, Trichophrya, Monogenetic Trematodes.
Application: Egg disinfection: (A) Salmonid eggs and possible other 5 ppm flow through for 1 hour (B) 66 ppm as a dip for no longer than 60 seconds.
Pond Treatment: (A) Scaleless fish 0.1 ppm (indefinite) on 3 alternate days (B) scalefish, crustaceans 1 to 2 ppm on 3 alternate days.
Raceway Treatments: 1 to 3 ppm as a 1 hour flush for scalefish. Short duration bath; 66 ppm for up to 60 seconds.
CAUTION: Always test a few organisms for potential toxicity to Malachite Green before beginning treatment on large numbers of organisms. Decolorize with sodium sulfite.
