Disinfectant, Oxidizer: For external bacteria and parasites. Potassium Permanganate may also be used to lower organic load (B.O.D.) in ponds, as well as to detoxify Rotenone and Tintrol fish toxicants. Also used for temporary relief of oxygen deficiency.
Application: In pond culture for external parasites and bacteria first overcome potassium demand of pond (B.O.D.) until pink-violet color remains, then add additional 2 ppm. Potassium Permanganate has been used at low ppm does as a raceway drip treatment.
